I feel like Pap Finn, that is, the self-pitying adult perv lamenting to ingratitude to me who has had all the trouble and pain and anxiety of childrearing. Our system has to criminalize drugs and assisted suicide because if we didn’t, our companies would be down our throats marketing both. We suppress truthful documentation of youth’s anti-racist sexuality, according to Benjamin Demott in The Imperial Middle. In Oliver Twist, children are hanged for stealing hadkerchiefs. The connection is not social control, even though that system depends on scaring children, but–what? MAINTAINING THE CLASS/CASTE/RACE SYSTEMS: sex is the great dissolver of the barriers in those systems, its cell walls. When the system is under threat as now–as manifested in the political and economic news–that is, when things feel out of control and we don’t have GWB/RC/creationism/etc to stem the tide, we go after what we sense is related–and hurt our kids. With the danger of boys coming back from overseas–of losing that outlet–whom can we go after? Again, Dubois said War is murder, force, anarchy, and debt. We went to war and the anarchy is real, even if it was among bankers. So if the war is over, free love is over, and it’s time to slam the lid on. And I, Pap Finn? Call this a gov’mint? What kind of a guv’ming gives a teacher 200 years for having childporn on a hard drive and can’t stop kids from doing whatever it is they are doing, much less can’t stop people of color from voting?
