But I do think they have a point. I don&#039;t really believe that conservatives, by and large, would be opposing Afghanistan if the same policy existed under a President McCain. And if it were the same policy under President McCain, then I bet we&#039;d hear more and louder objections from Democratic party leaders.

I agree that a lot of war opposition is principled. But partisan politics have a big effect, too.</description>
