I haven’t left Twitter yet, but I’m less engaged as I revive a Mastodon account I created a few years ago but quickly forgot about until many people started fleeing Elon’s sinking ship. I don’t know if Mastodon is the answer. It’s not a single site that is easy to get into if you’re not familiar with server management. That might keep the trolls away more than anything.
Twitter is a unique space. The next billionaire looking for a new toy might try to start a new one. But they’ll wait until Elon tanks completely.
