This follows weeks of protests in Atlanta against “Cop City”, a School of Americas style training camp to make police even more oppressive and violent than ever, resulting in the murder of environmentalist activist Tortuguita. The weekend of Tyre Nichols protests was hailed as “peaceful” by the authorities, but they are looking for any reason to try protesters as terrorists, so take their praise with a large grain of salt. For the record, we don’t owe them peace. It’s usually the better strategy, but it’s also better than they deserve.
