I liked drawing this page. The original plan was five panels, but I realized so much detail would be lost or not even provided if I did not give the first panel more room to breathe. So I sacrificed a punchline (no big whoop — I didn’t really like it anyway) for the sake of clarity. I think the details provide little jokes along the way, so it still satisfies my unwritten rule of having something humorous to offer every page — unless drama requires otherwise.

PANEL 1
The scene is as Fiona describes: various fae and pixies, etc helping each other out.

FIONA: It wasn’t always a party. We couldnae get nothing from the rest of the world, so we took care of each other. We grew food, or stole it. Had a lending library and a free clinic for mums and their babies. Always a stock of food and clothes for them’s that need.

PANEL 2
Goblins in uniform arresting Fiona and her crew.

FIONA: Sometimes the local authorities raided us, threw us in jail, and trashed our stuff. Businesses said we’re smelly thieves scaring the customers. But it was all just for show. The Autumn Court knew without us, the tenements woulda burnt down to the ground.
