Dude, Where You Been?
As Fetch fans already know, I have been on a break from cartooning while I manage my mother’s estate. She passed away last Fall without leaving a will, so I am going through the probate process and slowly working out her affairs. Complicating matters is that I live 3,000 miles away from her house; I am fortunate to have the help of her friends who keep an eye on the place and clear things out. I wouldn’t be able to manage that without them. Nonetheless, even with their help, managing the estate while raising kids, a grandchild, and holding down two jobs has been a real challenge. So I took a break from Fetch and other cartooning until I get these matters resolved.
That said, man, I miss drawing. I plan to get back to it soon. I have a project in the works that I hope to finish this year, including having it published to this site, and self-published as a minicomic. And I still plan to pick up Fetch again — it’s hard to stay away from the bizarre political situations we find ourselves in. (Hence all of my tweeting that I try to keep from being a kneejerk reaction. But it’s Twitter. Hard to avoid.)
Anyway, I’m dropping a line to assure old fans and new that I have not abandoned this site and I will take up cartooning in the near future. I wish I could be more specific than that. Until that unspecified date, take care of yourselves. Don’t let the bullshit bring you down, as Sly Stone once sang.
Kevin,
I know it is difficult to work out, considering the distance. i am glad others in the Buffalo area can assist to with taking care of things.
I will keep in touch by phone. I will be in Philadelphia Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and have two doctor appointments.
I will give you a call next weekend.
Love to you and Owen.

Good to hear from you! What-a-month, eh?
It’s been a year. :-) As you can tell by my late reply. Thanks for the support and patience.
I hope you are having a complicated time traveling back and forth and maintaining your work also. Hope you get it resolved and can relax more with your family.
I am busy on job in Philadelphia, so the travel and work is hard to keep up with. I thought of taking up my old hobby of oil painting scenic landscapes, or just photographing scenery and wildlife, as I travel.
Will Keep in touch.
Thanks! It’s been a busy year so far. I expect the summer to simmer down a bit.
Oil painting? Cool! I have never tried oils and it’s been a long time since I worked with acrylics.
I meant to say I know you are having a complicated time. Editing mistakes is often difficult in Facebook, once you post.
I want to keep in closer touch and talk to you more often on the phone. I also want to visit you when it can be arranged. Bill
