Last week I took off so I could take a break and focus on the other aspects of my life that required attention. But I said I would resume this week. Well, those other aspects of my life grew a lot larger than I anticipated, eating into the time I usually have to get anything drawn or written. And that is why this week there is no new page of Otherworldly Goods.

Sorry about that. I am a bum. Or at least I always feel like a bum when something like this happens. The internal criticism ratchets up to a fever pitch. Which is probably not fair to myself. After all, we just endured wildfires, toxic smoky air, and ongoing pandemic that has upended nearly every facet of life. The past two weeks have involved resuming remote work at my day job and spending time outside that working on my son’s IEP with his teachers and academic support support specialist and family. And then I was rear ended by some schmuck who fled the scene. I am okay, but my car is in the shop. I am glad my insurance will cover the $4500 tab, but it has involved a lot of paperwork. Oh, and I need to nag my dental insurance company to cover dental treatment of my back molar.

Oy. Anyway, I didn’t mean to whine. It’s just frustrating how Real Life gets in the way of Being An Artist. Let’s shoot for next week, eh? Thanks for your patience. For real.
