Digital Sketchbook: Self Compassion

Posted on November 20, 2021 By kevinwmoore

I was in therapy group the other day, learning about self compassion and perfectionism, when I thought of this cartoon. If you’re ever berating yourself for not being what you’re Supposed To Be, remember the underlying absurdity of extreme expectations. We should try to do better by ourselves and each other, but forgiveness and understanding are essential parts of the progress. You can’t learn from your mistakes if you fixate on them as points of self recrimination. Give this dog a hug.
