If you want to help, try to be a little sober. Not a bad rule of thumb.

This week’s update comes really ten days late. It should have appeared last Wednesday, but moving to my new house turned into more work than I had anticipated, and even this week I still had some things to tie up with my old apartment. I am getting more settled in, however, and getting more cartooning done. The other main factor has been the resumption of full time work at my other vocation, librarianing. Over the summer, hours were nearly halved due to lower student counts; but the Fall term is in full swing, so I have more days and longer hours. Which is great financially, but leaves less time to draw. Nonetheless, with the house hunting and moving and repairing things and troubleshooting mostly out of the way, I will have more time to get a page done on a weekly basis again. Thanks for your patience!

PANEL 1
Tara and Fetch in the car, quietly thinking to themselves, as they drive past eerie trees and a pixie eating a rabbit.

PANEL 2
Fetch and Tara, car interior.

FETCH: Can I expect more like that from her?
TARA: Sigh. I… She … Look, she has her good days and her bad.

PANEL 3
Tara close up.

TARA: She’s in a lot of pain, Fetch. I know that doesn’t excuse anything,
you know how she was in her prime. This way she’s less … so.

FETCH: Hunh. Well, she seems more sober now. Hiding the whiskey?
TARA: I try. No matter where I put it, she finds it eventually.
I dumped it down the sink one time, and she cast a spell to
leech it out of the pipes. Poured it right into her tumbler.

PANEL 5
Same

FETCH: Wow. Okay. I’ll see what I can do to help out.
TARA: Thank you. It means a lot.
FETCH: No problem.

PANEL 6
Back of the car, their heads silhouetted.

TARA: Be ready at 7am sharp tomorrow! Don’t be all hungover like you were this
morning! Get a decent night’s rest! Stay home! And away from the pub!
FETCH: OMG! Okay, okay!
