While everyone is finding ways to resist, protest, oppose, undermine, foment revolution against, and at least mock the current administration, there seems to be no end of counsel from comfy conservative white dudes. They often style themselves as “moderates” or “centrists” or “old school conservatives”, but they’re just the kinder, gentler end of an oppressive system. They won’t yell at you or beat you or call you names. But they will talk you to death.

I’ve been stewing on this one for awhile, but was finally prompted by a recent post by Emily Bartlett Hines on her IHateNYT blog. Hines is wry and bitter about the tendency of New York Times columnists to strike the most muddled centrist pose or, even worse, be David Brooks. Go read it.
